KG Diwali, 2023

On November 10, 2023, Dr. Sapthami Gowda, Department of Critical Care Medicine, Sparsh Hospital, Yeshwanthpur, took the stage at National Public School to unfold the magic of Diwali for our kindergarteners. She revealed the true essence and significance of the festival emphasizing the spirit of spreading love and happiness. She also discussed the health hazards of traditional crackers. She painted a picture of noisy skies, polluted soil and water, connecting the dots to global warming. However, she didn’t just highlight the problem; she brought forth a solution- the use of green crackers as an eco-friendly alternative. Safety precautions were addressed to the little ones, including the importance of wearing safety glasses and cotton clothes during the celebration. She concluded by encouraging a green Diwali, promoting eco-friendly practices for a more sustainable celebration. The lecture aimed to impart knowledge on Diwali traditions while fostering awareness of environmental concerns and safety measures. Students watched videos and sang songs along with their teachers. They created a colourful paper folding Diya as a takeaway.
