Dussehra, Deepavali and Valmiki Jayanthi

Culture and celebration were brought to the fore during the morning assembly as students of Grade 8 showcased the significance of Dussehra, Deepavali and the importance of observing Valmiki Jayanthi. Shloka recitations with English interpretations, speeches in English and Hindi and a dance drama documented the triumph of good over evil and light over darkness. The impact of celebrating ‘green’ festivals in order to keep pollution at bay was also highlighted.

A speech in Kannada presented the relevance of the life of sage Valmiki in the present era – there is always hope for man to rid himself of evil and aim to be a better person.
