NPS Rajajinagar held their interschool and international virtual MUN conference on the 19th and 20th of August 2021. This conference saw the participation of about 250 students of grades 8 to 12 from NPS group of schools from the cities of Bengaluru, Chennai, Mysore and Singapore. The event opened with the traditional lighting of the lamp, followed by a welcome address by Principal Ms Malathy Narayan. The conference was declared open by Secretary General Akash G C, who then introduced the members of the Secretariat, Organizing Committee and Executive Board to the audience.

The Five committees were DISEC, UNSC, Lok Sabha, Executive Committee of the National Security Council (EXComm) and the IPC. The highlight of this two-day event was the Crisis sessions within each committee which was held at different times on both the days. This was done to spice up the proceedings and add an element of thrill and surprise for the delegates. On the second day, delegates displayed their consensus building and lobbying skills to get the required votes to pass their bills or resolutions to make the committee a grand success. Thus, this conference helped the participants experience something entirely new.

The closing ceremony began with an address by School Prefect and Head of Organizing Committee Akshath Raghav, who encouraged students to participate in MUNs to hone their debating and problem-solving skills. Prizes were announced by the members of the EB and the event concluded with a vote of thanks by Deputy Secretary General Archith Casheekar.

We, at NPS Rajajinagar are very pleased to have hosted our first ever international and interschool online MUN and are delighted to take the first step in doing something new and different.
