Karnataka Rajyotsava and Kanakadasa Jayanti

Karnataka Rajyotsava was observed on 10th November, 2023 during the morning assembly. Students of Grades 1-8 put up a colourful show, replete with the culture of Karnataka. A parade of personalities from the state who have made their mark in various fields – freedom struggle, literature, science, sports, theatre and beauty pageants – brought to fore the contribution that Karnataka has made in the progress of the nation. A skit presented people from various parts of the state highlighting the rich culture in terms of dialects, food and clothing. Dancers donned the colours of the state in a performance that brought out pride for the rich state of Karnataka. The celebrations ended with the State anthem sung by the middle school choir.

A speech on the poet Kanakadasa highlighted his life and contributions to the society. A rendition of his song further enhanced his philosophy and its relevance in the present age.
