International Yoga Day, June 2021

21st of June began with a special assembly for International Yoga Day with a variety of programs. An introductory speech gave insight into the origin and importance of Yoga. Being under lockdown, the students gave demonstrations on their yoga expertise which they performed solo and also with the members of their family. Adding flavour to the program was a piece on healthy eating with a demonstration of making a salad that was high on nutrition. Yoga instructor Ms Akhila T held a class on exercises to strengthen the neck and shoulders to be followed by students and teachers during these times of online classes. Students from Grades 6-12 presented well-made informative posters on Yoga. ‘Yoga at home, Yoga with family’ was the dictum followed to highlight this significant day.
