Creating Scientific Awareness through demonstration of Medicinal Plants

The Ramaiah Institute of Technology (MSRIT) in association with Ramaiah Indic Specialty Ayurveda - Restoration Hospital organized a workshop for creating awareness on Biodiversity, Medicinal plants, Indian System of Medicine and Traditional Knowledge, supported by Dept. of Science and Technology, Govt. of India.

It was a four-day workshop (13th Jan to 17th Jan, 2020) that covered varied topics like identification, therapeutic uses, conservation and sustainable use of medicinal plants. The workshop included a field visit to GKVK agricultural botanical garden and MG botanical garden. It also covered topics related to Biological Diversity Act and Climate change. It was indeed a great opportunity for the students of Grades 9, 10 and 11 to interact with renowned scientists who are experts in the field of medicinal plants and biodiversity.
