GOLDEN JUBILEE CELEBRATIONS

National Public School Rajajinagar celebrated an important milestone in its history - The Golden Jubilee. The celebrations commenced on 6th December, on the school premises amid pomp and grandeur. The entire NPS Community whose branches are spread in Bangalore, Chennai and Singapore felicitated the founders, Dr. K P Gopalkrishna and Mrs. Santhamma Gopalkrishna.

His Excellency, Shri H R Bhardwaj, Governor of Karnataka, was the esteemed Chief Guest. Other dignitaries, the Principals and Vice principals of the associate schools, Faculty members and students were present at the inaugural function. The Chief Guest and dignitaries were given a rousing welcome by the majestic school band. Dr. Bindu Hari, Director NPS extended a warm welcome to the Chief Guest and dignitaries. The traditional lamp was lit and the Governor officially released the souvenir- Golden Memoirs- containing a treasure trove of memories of 50 golden years. He also addressed the gathering and shared with them his views on education.

The Founder Chairman, Dr. K P Gopalkrishna- a legend in the field of education- reminisced on the past 50 years and shared his thoughts with the gathering. The cultural extravaganza included soul stirring musical renditions in the form of an invocation, the Grade 12 Chorale and Taal Milan- a tabla recital. This was followed by Pragati- an innovative dance performance by students of classes 6-12 that artistically portrayed the growth of the school from its inception to its present status, blending diverse disciplines together to give an overview of what it is that makes NPS. Samsmruthi - an in-house documentary was screened that took everyone on a nostalgic journey through the bye-gone years.

The Principal, Mrs. Santhamma Gopalkrishna proposed the Vote of Thanks and the evening drew to a close with the promise of festivity and celebration in the air for the next 10 days. A truly great beginning for this momentous occasion!
